FAQ

Questions, answered honestly.

If your question isn't here — or your situation is unique — we're happy to talk it through.

Do you offer mobile visits in my area?

Mobile blood draws and specimen collection are available, but the service area can vary. Please call or send a request with your city or ZIP and we'll confirm whether we can come to you.

Do I need a doctor's order?

Many lab tests require an order from a physician or licensed provider, and therapeutic phlebotomy always requires a written clinician order. Some drug, alcohol or DNA collections are requested by an employer, organization or testing lab instead. Contact us to confirm what your specific test needs.

How should I prepare? Do I need to fast?

Preparation depends on the test. Some blood tests require fasting; others don't. Follow your provider's instructions, and we'll confirm any preparation when we verify your appointment. Staying hydrated usually helps with blood draws unless you've been told otherwise.

Can you collect specimens from children?

Yes, we offer gentle, family-centered pediatric collection. Age suitability depends on the specific collection, and a parent or guardian must be present with appropriate identification. Contact us to confirm for your child's situation.

How does DNA or paternity collection work?

We collect specimens (typically cheek swabs) and verify the identity of each participant. For legal tests, chain-of-custody procedures are required and confirmed in advance. Reliable Diagnostics performs the collection only — DNA analysis is done by the designated testing laboratory.

How will I receive my results?

Reliable Diagnostics does not analyze specimens or interpret results. Results are provided through your ordering provider, requesting organization or partner laboratory, according to their process and timeline.

Do you accept insurance? What does it cost?

Pricing and payment options depend on the service, laboratory and visit type. Please contact us to confirm costs and whether insurance may apply before your appointment.

How long does a collection take?

Most collections are fairly quick, but timing varies by test, paperwork requirements and the number of people being collected. We'll give you a realistic expectation when we confirm your appointment.
